Indulge in the delightful combination of young coconut, dark chocolate, and smashed berries with this vegan milkshake. It's a refreshing and satisfying treat that's perfect for a hot day or as a sweet dessert.
Ingredients: 1 young coconut meat and water. 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate cocoa powder. 1 cup of mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries. 1/2 cup of almond milk or any plant-based milk of your choice. 2 tablespoons of maple syrup or sweetener of your choice. 1 cup of ice cubes.
Instructions: Open the young coconut and carefully collect the coconut water and meat. You can use a knife or a coconut opener for this. Add the coconut water, coconut meat, dark chocolate cocoa powder, almond milk, and maple syrup to a blender. Blend on high until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is creamy. Add the ice cubes to the blender and blend again until you achieve a slushie-like consistency. In a separate bowl, gently smash the mixed berries with a fork to release their juices and create a berry compote. Pour the young coconut dark chocolate slushie into a glass and top it with the smashed berry compote. Garnish with additional whole berries if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your vegan Young Coconut Dark Chocolate Slushie with Smashed Berries!

Even if it’s always ice cream season at your house (same, tbh), soaring temps and summer on the horizon make it an extra-refreshing treat. But if you’re dairy-free or eat a plant-based diet, it may not always be easy to find options that you love. And while there are plenty of delicious dairy-free and vegan ice creams on the market, perhaps you haven’t found one that’s ticked all the ideal boxes: soy-free, no refined sugars or other preferences.
You might be delighted to learn, then, that Daily Harvest, known for its delicious and wholesome plant-based smoothies, soups and bowls delivered to your door, has launched Scoops — a new ice cream line that’s not only vegan but also full of nourishing ingredients. Spirulina, avocado or ashwagandha with your dessert, anyone? The coconut-based treats are free of soy, gums, fillers, additives and carrageenan (a common additive used for thickening that may cause gastrointestinal inflammation). Amazingly, though, they’re honestly some of the most delicious ice creams, vegan or not, that we’ve ever tried.
The line features four flavors that are all made with clean ingredients. Rather than relying on refined sugars, the ice cream is sweetened with maple, or, in the case of the berry flavor, by raspberries, strawberries, and dragonfruit. Pro tip: Mix ‘em with your favorite nondairy milk for the vegan milkshake of your dreams. (We even poured a tiny bit of bourbon over the vanilla and sesame flavor for a boozy treat and it was — a great decision.)
A coconut base means Scoops are just as rich and creamy as any traditional dairy ice cream, and the flavor profiles run the gamut — so you’re likely to find one you’ll become obsessed with.
A quick debriefer on Scoop flavors:
Chocolate + Ooey, Gooey Midnight Fudge
Chocolate + Ooey, Gooey Midnight Fudge
This rich chocolate ice cream ups the creaminess ante with the addition of avocado, plus chunks of cacao-based fudge that are just sweet enough.

Cashew Paste – The Expert Substitute
Cashew paste is a versatile ingredient that has gained popularity in the culinary world recently. Its rich flavour and creamy texture make it a great alternative to dairy and other common components. Cashew paste adds flavour and nutrients to your food, making it a great choice for anybody on a plant-based diet, managing allergies, or simply trying new things. We’ll go into the art of utilizing cashew paste as a replacement in this extensive tutorial, covering its flavour profiles, preparation methods, and allergy-friendly uses.
Seamless substitutions
Cashew paste’s ability to easily swap out dairy and other popular components in recipes is one of its main advantages. Two effective substitution techniques are the nut-free alternative and the dairy substitute.
Dairy replacement: Discover the culinary magic of cashew paste, a dairy-free wonder that can be made without dairy, replacing heavy cream in creamy soups, pasta sauces, and desserts. Cashew paste has a thick, creamy texture and a flavour that is similar to that of dairy cream, but without the lactose. Beyond its many uses, cashew paste is a base for making delicious vegan cheeses, such as nacho sauce or cream cheese, which opens up a world of flavour combinations. Whether you’re trying veganism, lactose sensitive diets, or just trying new foods, cashew paste provides a guilt-free way to indulge in creamy treats. Try a range of flavours and textures to customize your meals to your exact specifications and take your cooking to a whole new level with this amazing dairy-free ingredient.
Nut-free alternative: For people who are allergic to nuts, cashew paste proves to be a delicious and safe alternative to items made with almond or peanut butter. Blend it easily into recipes that call for milk or nut butter, including smoothies, baked goods, or salad dressings, to get rich flavours and creamy textures. If you are replacing nut-based items with cashew paste, adjust the sweetness and seasoning to maintain the balance of flavours in your dish. Accept this flexible substitute to open up a plethora of nut-free culinary options, guaranteeing that no one has to give up flavour or safety to enjoy delectable meals. Cashew paste gives you the ability to make decadent, allergy-friendly treats that satisfy the senses and uplift the spirit, regardless of whether you’re following dietary restrictions or experimenting with new flavours.
Dairy replacement recipes
Cashew paste provides a dairy-free, creamy substitute in a variety of culinary applications.
Meals: For creamy pasta sauces, soups, and curries, replace dairy milk with cashew paste. It has an opulent sensation without having any lactose, thanks to its thick texture and flavour that resemble heavy cream. Cashew paste may also be used to vegan cheese sauces for lasagna or macaroni and cheese.
Desserts: Cashew paste elevates desserts; use it as a foundation for creamy fillings in puddings, pies, and cheesecakes. Its velvety texture melds perfectly with fruit, vanilla, or chocolate flavours to create rich sweets devoid of dairy.
Drinks: You may add cashew paste to coffee, smoothies, and shakes to improve the flavour of your drinks. Richness and depth are added by its creamy texture, which makes it an ideal dairy alternative for creamy milkshakes or lattes. Additionally, cashew paste may be used to fruits and sweeteners to create luscious, dairy-free smoothies.
The possibilities are unlimited when it comes to making delectable, dairy-free meals, desserts, and drinks that will please everyone.
Allergy-friendly recipes
Cashew paste may be used in a variety of culinary applications to create allergy-friendly meals.
Meals: To replace dairy products in savoury recipes without nuts, use cashew paste. Use it in place of cream in casseroles, soups, and creamy pasta sauces. It provides a rich and decadent taste without raising the possibility of nut allergies because to its mild flavour and creamy texture, which go well with a variety of savoury dishes.
Desserts: Use cashew paste as a creamy basis to create rich, nut-free desserts. Use it in recipes like energy balls, brownies, and cookies instead of almond or peanut butter. Because of its smooth consistency, baked foods retain their safety for people with nut allergies while also adding moisture and richness.
Drinks: You may use cashew paste for creating allergy-friendly drinks including milkshakes, smoothies, and hot chocolate. It is a great choice for people who are allergic to nuts and are looking for tasty and safe beverage alternatives because of its creamy texture, which gives a pleasing mouthfeel without requiring nut-based components.
You may enjoy tasty and delicious meals, sweets, and drinks while meeting dietary requirements and guaranteeing a safe dining experience by adding cashew paste to allergy-friendly dishes.
Cashew paste is a culinary genie that can turn recipes into delicious dairy-free options while offering people who are allergic to nuts a safe substitute. You may add richness and depth to your favourite recipes without sacrificing taste or dietary restrictions by knowing cashew paste’s flavour profiles, cooking methods, and allergy-friendly uses. Try a variety of recipes and let your imagination run wild in the kitchen with this knowledgeable replacement. Migo cashew paste is one such culinary chameleon, which works well in recipes suitable for those with nut allergies and dairy intolerances. Use its depth and richness to elevate meals and confidently satisfy dietary requirements while maintaining flavour.

Mister Softee, 7770 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA 93004
Tumblr media
Mister Softee took over the space that used to be Surf N’ Yogurt years ago. I have to say, MS is an improvement – better soft serve machines (and hence, better tasting product), better service, and cleaner. They don’t offer froyo (too bad).
They have soft serve and hard scoop ice cream.
Soft serve flavors:
Vanilla
Chocolate (mild)
Dole (pineapple?)
Oatly vegan chocolate
Choose from ice cream cones with different dip flavors and sprinkles, ice cream sandwiches, floats, milkshakes, malts, water ice, softee swirls (like Blizzards, the toppings are blended in), sundaes, and banana splits. Prices are reasonable. A small cone is $3.50.
Butterfinger Softee Swirl with chocolate dip ($6): A good size and the vanilla ice cream was blended with many pieces of Butterfinger. The chocolate shell was thin and crispy. The vanilla ice cream was mild, thick, and creamy. It’s not as rich or as flavorful as frozen custard and it melts fast, but it is a tasty enough treat. Think Dairy Queen or Foster's Freeze.
The place looks like an old fashioned ice cream shop inspired by the 1950’s roadside ice cream stand, perhaps. It’s no frills but they do have some tables and chairs and some pictures of celebrities eating Mister Softee. They also have an ice cream truck that’s available for catering.

These breakfast recipes take 10 minutes or less to make so they're a great option for busy mornings. They're also super nutritious and filling, packing at least 6 grams of fiber and 15 grams of protein per serving. The combination of these nutrients carry many benefits since fiber and protein alike can help support bone health, healthy digestion and healthy immune function while keeping you feeling full and satisfied. Recipes like our Raspberry Yogurt Cereal Bowl and Breakfast Salad with Egg & Salsa Verde Vinaigrette are quick and easy ways to start your day off right. Salad for breakfast? Don't knock it until you've tried it. We love how this meal gives you 3 whole cups of vegetables to start your day. For breakfast, snack or a healthy dessert, try using yogurt instead of milk for your cereal. If making this as a to-go snack, keep the cereal separate and top just before eating. This blackberry smoothie has plenty of fresh berry flavor and sweetness from banana and honey. And with only 5 minutes from start to finish, it's the perfect breakfast for busy mornings. If fresh blackberries aren't available, feel free to use frozen in this easy and healthy smoothie. This quick egg scramble with hearty bread is one of the best breakfasts for weight loss. It combines protein-packed eggs and superfood raspberries with filling whole-grain toast and nutrient-rich spinach. The protein and fiber help fill you up and keep you going through the morning.   This healthy smoothie is not only delicious--it also boosts your daily dose of anti-inflammatory foods. It starts with a base of creamy gut-friendly kefir and includes cherries, which can lower the inflammatory marker C-reactive protein. Heart-healthy fats in avocado, almond butter and chia seeds deliver additional anti-inflammatory compounds to the body, while spinach offers a mix of antioxidants that sweep up harmful free radicals. Fresh ginger adds zing, plus a compound called gingerol, which preliminary studies suggest may improve inflammatory markers of heart disease if consumed daily. This creamy high-protein shake will keep you satisfied for hours and tastes like a chocolate-peanut butter banana milkshake. You don't even need to add protein powder, thanks to the naturally occurring protein in the soymilk, Greek yogurt and peanut butter. This fresh-tasting bagel breakfast sandwich comes together in minutes with just a few ingredients. Creamy avocado pairs with crunchy onions and sprouts for a filling, healthy breakfast with layers of flavor. Burrata (cream-filled fresh mozzarella cheese) takes this avocado toast recipe to the next level for a decadent, yet weekday-friendly breakfast. Red lentils give this smoothie a plant-based protein boost. To make this smoothie vegan, try using unsweetened coconut beverage or almond milk in place of the dairy milk. Pico de gallo and cheesy eggs make this quick breakfast flavorful and satisfying.   Pair pimiento cheese with spinach, eggs and hot sauce for a satisfying breakfast sandwich that's ready in just 10 minutes. This healthy green smoothie gets super creamy from the frozen banana and avocado. Make ahead (up to 1 day) and store it in the fridge until you need a veggie boost. This healthy smoothie recipe is a gateway to the smoothie-bowl craze. Use whatever fruit, nuts and seeds you like best to make it your own. Be sure to use frozen fruit in Step 1 to yield a creamy, frosty base for the toppings.   Hard-boiled eggs are combined with spinach, cheese and salsa for a quick, flavorful breakfast. Mashed avocado provides a creamy element while a squeeze of lime juice brings acidity.   This strawberry parfait recipe combines fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and crunchy granola for an easy breakfast. Pack the parfait in a mason jar for a healthy breakfast on the go.   Greek yogurt and nut butter boost protein, and ground flaxseed adds omega-3s in this fresh fruit smoothie recipe. Use ice cubes if you like a frosty smoothie or opt for water if you don't want it so cold.
Hummus, sprouts and avocado top sprouted whole-wheat bread in this healthy vegan lunch idea. Look for sprouted bread in the freezer section of your grocery store.   For this healthy smoothie bowl recipe, be sure to use frozen fruit (not fresh) to keep the texture thick, creamy and frosty.   Skip the PB & J sandwich but get the flavors in this healthy smoothie! Greek yogurt, spinach and strawberries are blended with peanut butter in this healthy, protein-rich smoothie recipe.   In this Mediterranean-inspired snack, dried figs and honey top plain yogurt. Substitute fresh figs if you can find them.   source

For me it's Vanilla! So today we are going to make Vanilla Milkshake.
Vanilla Milkshakes are very easy to make. To begin with, take 1 cup whole milk, 1 teaspoon sugar,1 teaspoon Growvita vanilla flavour. Now add these ingredients into a blender and blend it till it gets smooth. Pour it in the glass and serve. But if it's a little plain for you then you can put some dry fruits, or strawberries, bananas as per your choice.
Want a thicker Milkshake? If you want to make your vanilla milkshake thicker than add ¼ cup of milk per 3-4 medium sized vanilla ice cream scoops along with GrowVita Vanilla powder . Blend it till it gets mixed completely to get a thicker, richer, creamy, taste. You can adjust the quantity of milk as per the thickness you want..
Want a Vegan Milkshake? If you are a Vegan, then you can use GrowVita Vanilla powder, Vegan ice cream and almond milk (that is a good substitute for milk). You can even use cashew milk or soy milk for the same. And just like any other milkshake, put the ingredients in a blender and blend it till it's mixed. Now it's to serve.

The Complete Guide To Creating The Perfect Strawberry-Banana "Strawberita"
If you've ever had a smoothie, you've probably noticed that the flavor of strawberries and bananas blend together to create something new. This is especially true in a strawberry-banana smoothie. It's like taking the best parts of each fruit—the sweetness from the banana, and the tartness from the strawberry—and combining them into one delicious drink! But did you know that this combination can be taken one step further? Introducing: The Strawberita. To learn more about Strawberita, check out this "Strawberita". Let's begin our discussion of the main topic.
Start with a ripe banana.
Ripe bananas are best for this recipe. The skin should be yellow and the fruit firm, but not hard. If your bananas are not ripe enough to eat or freeze, wait a few days until they ripen.
If you do not have frozen bananas on hand, use fresh ones that have been peeled first (to avoid browning) and then cut them into large chunks before freezing them in an airtight container or zip-top bag. Make sure that you freeze them solid before adding them to the blender!
You can keep unpeeled bananas in the freezer for up to six months if you plan ahead! Just be sure to peel them before using so they don't brown too much while thawing out
A little lime juice helps to break down the fruit.
To break down the fruit, you'll need a little lime juice. It's okay if you don't have an actual lime—in fact, lemon juice works just as well! Just don't use too much of it. You only want to add a few drops at most; that way, your smoothie won't end up tasting like a margarita or something equally gross and unnatural.
The other thing to watch out for here is ripeness: ripe bananas are key. They should be brown with some spots on them. If they're too green or yellowish in color, go ahead and throw them away until they're ready—you can tell by looking at their skin and checking how soft they feel in your hand. You don't want underripe or overripe bananas unless you specifically like them (in which case this article isn't for you).
Use frozen strawberries, not fresh, for the best results.
Fresh strawberries are best used in recipes where they will be the star of the show. The flavor and texture of a fresh strawberry are more delicate than frozen, so it's better suited for dishes that showcase their character. If you're making a pie or cake with fresh strawberries as an ingredient, by all means, feel free to use them! But if you're looking for a smoothie that's rich and fruity without being overpowering, frozen strawberries will get you further. They're also easier to find at grocery stores than fresh ones, which might not be in season when you want them (or may not even exist locally). You can buy them year-round at most major retailers like Walmart or Target—and if there aren't any nearby? You can always order online!
Strawberry-banana nectar isn't just for smoothies.
Strawberry-banana nectar isn't just for smoothies. Use it to make a strawberry banana milkshake, or add it to your favorite smoothie bowl or parfait recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla ice cream (or vegan alternative)
1 cup strawberry-banana nectar from concentrate
If you want to get creative, try adding chocolate syrup or Nutella.
If you’re looking for a boost in flavor, try adding some Nutella to your Strawberita! Nutella is a chocolate hazelnut spread that adds an intense richness and creamy texture to just about anything. It’s also delicious on its own, so if you don’t have any on hand, run out and get some now!
Try mixing in 1 tablespoon of Nutella into your next bowl of Strawberita—you won't regret it!
Making a great strawberry-banana smoothie is easier than you think!
Strawberries and bananas are two of the most popular fruits to use in smoothies and for good reason. Their flavors complement each other well and they're both sweet enough to balance out any bitterness or sourness. They also have a lot of fiber, which helps keep you full until your next meal.
To make this recipe, ripen two banana halves (peel them first!) overnight by placing them in a brown bag with an apple or another fruit that gives off ethylene gas—the same chemical released by apples when they're stored at room temperature (which causes them to ripen). You can also just cut off the stem end of each half and place it face-down on a plate covered with newspaper. When you wake up, slice each half into pieces about 1/4 inch thick; freeze any extra slices for later!
When you're ready to make your smoothie, add about 8 ounces (1 cup) of frozen strawberries along with 1 tablespoon of lime juice and 2 cups of ice cubes into your blender or food processor; blend until completely smooth! If it's too sweet for you after blending, try adding some chocolate syrup or Nutella as desired:
Conclusion
We hope that you found this guide helpful and that you’re going to try making your own Strawberry-Banana Strawberita soon! If you want to learn more about smoothies or other blended drinks, check out our other guides on how to make the perfect green smoothie and what goes into a protein shake.

I went out for a meal with my parents earlier. We went to Frankies and Bennys. Not gonna lie their vegan milkshake was pretty damn good! Just dont get it to take out I did that when it first came out and its not as good the lady said its cos they put more soya mylk in as its a bigger container so its less thick and by time it gets to you cos of the ice cream melting more etc its just weaker and more like watery less cream thick shake tasting.  HOWEVER if you are dining in totally get it. I’ve had their mushroom bianca before that is fucking amazing however today I went for the viva la vegan burger with the melty cheese...melty is beyond an understatement its just a really nice thick cheese sauce could be used as a fondue tbh. But it tastes amazing on the burger with the fresh cronchy salad and burger sauce. I can never eat the chips that come with it when I get it so I gave them to my mum who had the vegan arrabiata pasta. which they do Gluten free options for.  Then we had the vegan chocomisu basically tiramisu but its got a chocolate taste but its not overpowering. Its just so fucking creamy though. Ugh I ate tiramisu all the time as a vegetarian/before i was vegan and this really hit the spot. I could only manage half of it though so I got it to take away except I was cheeky and suggested me and my mum get an extra one each to take with us so we did that. Mostly cos once i get my blood test back if it comes back as markers for coeliac I will have to stop eating gluten and the sponge in the tiramisu I believe definitely has gluten in. Also currently until I get the blood test they tell me I cant stop eating gluten even though it definitely has been making me bloat noticeably at times especially cous cous....ngl I’ve cheated a little cos I’ve tried to really avoid cous cous since that episode being so bad even though they say im not meant to change what I eat.  I am gonna have my grape bubble tea w/ strawberry jellies now and my chocomisu cos damn its good!

Salt & Straw, 3823 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026
Tumblr media
If you like creative ice cream flavors that actually surprise you in a good way, Salt & Straw is your kind of ice cream shop. They’re known for creative flavors and ingredients but they also have classic ice cream flavors that are always available (e.g., Double Fold Vanilla, Honey Lavender, Chocolate Gooey Brownie) and vegan options. Every month, they have a few limited edition flavors inspired by one theme. In July, the theme was The Berries Berries Berries Series.
Ask for samples before you commit. You can buy pints or scoops. A single scoop is $6.50 and a double $8.50. They also have milkshakes, housemade waffle cones, and a few toppings: whipped cream sprinkles, culinary perfume spritz (something they invented). And there’s some Salt & Straw merch for sale like candles, their cookbooks, sprinkles, ice cream scoops, hats, pup cups, etc.
Freckled mint chocolate chip (vegan): I couldn’t tell that it was vegan. The ice cream was rich and thick. It didn’t have enough chocolate but the sample might not have been representative.
Marionberry coconut sherbet (vegan): A nice big scoop…didn’t taste “vegan” but was creamy, rich and thick. They used a ton of marionberries. The sherbet was very berry forward and tangy, with a hint of coconut. Marionberries taste like blackberries.
Service was friendly. I didn’t see anywhere to sit inside but there were two benches outside. This location has a bit of parking in a shared lot.
4.5 out of 5 stars
